I have a friend who has been with her boyfriend for 12yrs, last July they got married and slowly over the 12months things have become a bit more crap.
They have 3 children together and decided to split for a while, to give each other space and to give the kids a break form the arguing. Now, while they were apart my friend had a one night stand with someone.
My friend and her husband decided to get back together to try to work things out but he found out she had slept with another man. He instantly threw her out and forbid her from seeing their children.
Was he right to do this? Did she cheat?

Gee...this is a tough one.
I think the term "Cheating" is most relevant when you betray your partner and have sex with someone else behind his/her back, but I'm not sure if it's a "Betrayal" when they are broken up or "Split" for a while. Personally, I look at it cheating either way, it doesn't look like they ever divorced, and they had intentions of getting back together eventually, so her going off and having sex with some random guy while they are still technically husband and wife, doesn't seem very loyal.
Taking time apart from each other is one thing, but taking time apart WITH other people, that's entirely different..

Megan · You know... it's funny, because my mom was in a similar situation when she was younger, only it was the other way around. Her and her BF at the time decided to take a little "Time apart", but just for a month or so. Then she finds out he went out on dates with 3 or 4 different girls during there time apart, she looked at it as cheating and they never got back together. So like you said, it depends on how you look at it.

ok, look, if they were still TECHNICALLY married (as in NOT divorced) then TECHNICALLY (as in she fucked up cuz she led him on) she cheated! BUT, he over-reacted w/ the whole not seeing the kids thing!
