I've been contemplating breaking out the toys in the bedroom these days to spice up the action for my GF and I. I have one big fear though....What if I get something that is so big or so pleasing that I slowly become unable to please her myself or inadequate and she chooses machine over man in the end? I hate to ruin something that seems to be going ok in fear that I could ruin it completely. Will I be kicked to the curb for a piece of plastic or some batteries if I do?

It is a risk you're taking if you plan on always using these toys. On the other hand, I think it's perfectly fine to ask her if she's at least interested in using them. Like everything in life, take small steps in the beginning, maybe just a vibrator or whatnot and use it during foreplay. If you both enjoy that then you can graduate to more toys and during intercourse. Make sure to use penetration from your own "toy" to please her while using these toys or not, so that she will surely choose yours over plastic!
