Generally speaking, if you and/or your partner are of unknown sexual history and/or sexual health, oral sex is a low risk activity for HIV but you are at risk of other STIs.
This is for both receptive and insertive partner, cut in the mouth pr not.
So until you and your partner have had an STI screening and I always recommend protected oral sex.
Yes, it's old fashioned, but it's safe and safe play is good play.
