Confidence is often what sepperates bad boys who get the girl from nice guys who, in spite of all the qualities they have that women say they like in a man, don't. A confident posture is one of the first things women notice in men. Since a poor first impression can often be a last impression it is important for guys to strike the right pose as the first step to attract women.
Confidence means showing you are comfortable in your own skin, are control of your situation and have leadership abilities. Here are 8 body language tips for appearing more confident:
1. Sit or stand with shoulders back and head high, but not arrogantly so. Sit with good posture, feet should-width, or a little less, apart. Avoid crossing your legs or feet. When you sit down to stay awhile, establish your space by placing personal items, or things you are using, around you. Avoid holding anything in front of you that you could appear to be hiding behind.
2. Do not make unnecessary body movements and if you have to move, such as when sitting, standing or walking, do so slowly and deliberately which makes you look in command of yourself. But do not do so to the point of seeming rigid or stiff, as that makes you come off as uncomfortable and ill-at-ease. You want to be in command but still calm, relaxed and open to the world around you, not walled off.
3. Don't make nervous body movements such as finger drumming, foot tapping, leg jiggling, body tics, jerking, fidgeting or rushing around.
4. Speak slowly and deliberately with good annunciation, but not too slowly you could be mistaken for being slow witted. If your with someone, such as a woman, you wish to impress, occasionally pause your speech for effect to make your listeners hang on your words.
5. Woman want to hear a deep voice. If you have one, that's great. If not, try to train yourself to speak in as deep a tone as you can and make a habit of always speaking in that tone.
6. Work on your vocabulary so you appear intelligent and interesting. Speak assertively, with quiet, non-arrogant conviction. Do not appear humorless or intellectually arrogant. Do not preemptively apologize or speak in a manner that appears defensive. If you are wrong or hurt a woman's feelings, do not be afraid to admit it and then apologize, after the fact. Otherwise speak with confidence.
7. When you enter a room or space, scan it confidently with your eyes to establish your space in it. Eye contact is vary important in getting a woman's attention. It is usually the first step in getting to know her. If you like a woman, you will likely first want to make eye contact to establish your interest in her and whether she may reciprocate. If you can establish eye contact, don't be the first to look away. If she maintains eye contact with you for two seconds or longer (the usual "look away" time for most people wanting to avoid eye contact), looks down and then back at you you're probably in luck. If she instead looks away by looking sideways she probably isn't interested. If she doesn't look away at all she is probably VARY sexually aggressive, so consider your options carefully. Don't stare for so long though that you may appear psycho.
