A Guide to Becoming a Great Kisser

Article

Whether you have never kissed someone before or you are simply unsure about being a great kisser.  There are some basic tips to kissing well.
Have a clean mouth
You should definitely have fresh breath.  This is a must for great kissing.  If you don’t have the ability to brush your teeth shortly prior to kissing your significant other, then you may want to carry some gum or mints with you.  Also, avoid eating stinky foods, such as onions, garlic and the like.  This can create overwhelmingly bad breath.  Next, the gum will also help to remove any unsightly food from your teeth.  As gross as this may sound, nothing is worse than kissing someone with a chuck of spinach between their teeth.
Take things slow
There is no rule that says that you must jump in.  As the saying goes, only fools rush in.  Kissing should involve passion and emotion.  It should be a burst of fireworks and romance, not the awkwardness of search for tonsils.  So take your time.  Rushing into a kiss can also lead to an untimely head bump and a headache to follow.  So, you should also make sure your timing is right.  Also, there is nothing worse than a “wet kisser”.  This particular kisser will leave you wiping their saliva off your face from ear to ear.  Although, a certain amount of spit is necessary for moisture, you don’t want to drown your partner.
Be easy with the kiss
Nothing can ruin a kiss like someone who is too aggressive.  Although being assertive is sexy, aggression should be saved for boxing matches, not kisses.  Also, some of the best kisses can be a simple light touch of two lips together.  This may even make the more passionate make up session more enjoyable.  Next, lips that are held to firmly together can also make for a bad kiss.  Relax your lips and mouth muscles.  Kissing can also be play.  You might even want to gently lick or suck on your partners lips.  The key point here is gently.  Sucking your partner’s lip off their face is not recommended for good kissing, but a little play kissing can be fun.
Prepare your lips
Take care of your kissers.  Moisten your lips prior to kissing someone.  Also, try to avoid dry cracked lips, by applying a lip balm regularly.  Drinking plenty of water can also keep your lips feeling soft and hydrated. Being prepared is also about reading your date or girlfriend’s signals and knowing when the mood is right.  Watch for the little signs that he/she may give you.  This could include anything from a light touch to a long look.  Being a great kisser is also about knowing when you have the perfect moment.
Final thoughts…
Overall, there are many things that go into be a great kisser, but you should keep in mind that this is a personal opinion.  This means that although you may be a great kisser to one person, you may be sloppy to another.  Be a great kisser is also about finding your “kissing match” in another.  So, good luck out there.
