The song that the bride and groom choose to use for their first song is one of the most important parts of the ceremony.  You want to choose a song that is descriptive of your love for one another.  If you’re trying to decide on the perfect song for your special day, take a look at the list below.  Shania Twain - "From This Moment""From This Moment" was Shania Twain's 4th single released in 1997 on her album "Come On Over."  Twain originally sang this song as a duet with country singer Bryan White.  This song sounds as if it was written to be a wedding song with lyrics like, "I give my hand to you with all my heart / Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start."  The speed of this song is perfect to serve as the first slow dance by the bride and groom.Righteous Brothers - "Unchained Melody""Unchained Melody" is one of the most recorded songs in the 20th century and is used in the famous pottery scene of the movie "Ghost."  Not only does this song have the perfect tune to be the first slow-dance song but the lyrics are also beautiful, "Oh, my love, my darling / I've hungered for your touch / A long, lonely time."  This song talks about a love that will last through time, life, and death.98 Degrees - “I Do”Although this song is written by one of the many boy bands of the 1990’s, it really makes a great song to dance to at your wedding.  The title actually says it all because it is about that commitment to spend the rest of your life with another person, and to love that person forever.  The chorus says, “I do cherish you / For the rest of my life / You don’t have to think twice / I will love you still.”Edwin McCain – “I Could Not Ask For More”“I Could Not Ask For More” was Edwin McCain’s final single on his album “Messenger.”  This song is not as slow as the others but it does not lack in romance.  “These are the moments I thank God that I’m alive / These are the moments I’ll remember all my life / I found all I’ve waited for / And I could not ask for more.”  This song is quite perfect to dance to on your wedding day because it talks about finally finding that special person, and needing nothing else in life except for that person.  Lonestar – “Amazed”This song appeared on Lonestar’s 1999 album “Lonely Grill.”  This song talks about how despite the fact that he has been with this woman for awhile, she still amazes him just like she did when they first met.  This song has romantic lyrics, “I’m so in love with you / It just keeps getting better / I wanna spend the rest of my life / With you by my side.”  The peak of the song is also a perfect spot for the groom to dip his wife and go in for a smooch.Fred Astaire – “The Way You Look Tonight”Although most people are familiar with Frank Sinatra’s remake of “The Way You Look Tonight,” Fred Astaire won an Oscar for the song in 1936.  Since then this song has become one of the most popular songs for the first wedding dance.  Usually the bride and groom look their best and are the happiest that they’ve ever been on their wedding day, so this song is very fitting, “Some day, when I’m awfully low . . . / I will feel a glow just thinking of you / And the way you look tonight.”
