Body Piercings That Can Make Sex Better

Article

Body piercings have increased in popularity over the last two decades and are no longer primarily relegated to the ears or nose as they predominantly were in the past.  Instead, body piercings are showing up in a wide variety of places on the human anatomy, whether their primary intention be for fashion, social statements, bodily adornments, sexual enhancements, or a combination thereof.  Here we examine those body piercings that have a sexual connotation or might have been specifically chosen for the enhancement of sexual pleasure they can potentially provide.
Tongue Piercings
Tongue rings in particular have enjoyed a surge in popularity in the recent past.  This is likely due to the fact that the tongue is often considered a sensual part of the body and that its adornment and modification can reportedly increase sexual pleasure.  This is done primarily by introducing a new sensation through the use of rings made of various kinds of materials like metal, rubber, glass, and plastic – which is also true of other body piercings associated with sexual pleasure.  Tongue rings are especially popular because they can add excitement and a different “dimension” to all things oral, including kissing, licking, oral sex, etc.
Female Anatomy Piercings (Clitoral Hood, Clitoral, and Labial)
The former of these piercings can be inserted either horizontally or vertically, although women are seldom afforded the opportunity to make the decision on their own since the professional piercer will generally examine their genitalia and suggest a direction for the clitoral hood piercing based on that examination.  Whether or not a clitoral hood piercing enhances a woman’s pleasure during a sexual experience is still debated in the medical community, although many women report that the proper installation of the piercing does, in fact, encourage clitoral stimulation that can be therefore enjoyed during intercourse or related sex play.  It’s also important to note that such a piercing, if done properly, should affect only the clitoral hood rather than the clitoris itself, which is the part of the female anatomy that requires sexual stimulation for orgasm.
A clitoral piercing, on the other hand, penetrates the actual sex organ itself; as such, these piercings can potentially be very painful due to the extreme number of nerve endings in the region (approximately 8000).  Because of the rather consistent stimulation of the clitoris in these types of piercings, there is both an increased chance of heightened sexual pleasure when the clitoris is fully stimulated and erect, as well as the increased (but still relatively rare chance) that a woman with such a piercing might lose her ability to achieve climax through clitoral stimulation.
Labial piercings, however, are visually compelling but will provide a woman with no increased sexual pleasure since they are too far away from the clitoris to provide adequate stimulation to assist in or enhance orgasm.
Male Anatomy Piercings (Ampallang, Dydoe, Frenum, Guiche, and Prince Albert)
Piercing of the male genitalia can and does occur in many places, including those inserted through the penis head horizontally (ampallang); those inserted through the penis head’s ridge or corona (dydoe); those inserted in the loose skin along the length of the penis (frenum); those inserted from the scrotum’s base through the perineum (guiche); and those placed through the urethra (Prince Albert).  The last of these, the Prince Albert, currently enjoys the greatest popularity in the United States.  Keep in mind that many of these piercings can, like that of the female’s clitoris, be extremely painful due to the fact that there are an abundance of nerve endings.  Further, these piercing procedures can take quite some time to heal.  However, both men and women often report increased and enhanced sexual pleasure once these types of piercings have been properly performed and given time to heal. It’s worth noting that there are several other types of body piercings that can enhance sexual pleasure, although they are much more rare.
