It really does depend on the girl, you can't generalise on it. Some girls will hate both, some girls will love both, some girls will have a preference.
Some girls will do either because they naively think they should. My advice is check with your girl before you try either.

Na, he only watches football because he has bets going with his family members. He always picks the off the wall team to piss his mom off because most of the time he wins. I married a maniacal man, what can I say?

He watches American and European football. He actually has the soccer channel running pretty much all day if we have nothing on our DVR to watch. That he is a fan of. American football, eh. He knows about it.
