Your boyfriend's request sounds like a lot of fun and with your open-mindedness I'm sure it will be a great experience for the both of you. Orgasm denial means preventing orgasm for a long length of time, usually saving it for the end of a sexual encounter. Since it will be your first time participating in it don't be too harsh but definitely tap into "punishing" him if he attempts to. The fact that he already bought the props also means he's ready to give you full power. Use the whip, dress as dark and naughty as possible, and tease him until he's begging for you. The surprise idea is great; I would even dress the part before he comes over and punish him as soon as he enters the door.
