Couching your question in this way won’t immediately remind the nurse of the patient lost that day or the bed sores that had to be dressed and will instead allow him or her to focus on a positive point like a patient that got a clean bill of health.
Treating your nurse right
Finally, keep in mind that despite working very hard in an incredibly stressful environment, nurses are generally overworked and underpaid. Additionally, they often take verbal abuse from patients, doctors and other colleagues, which can cause even the most committed and compassionate nurse to call his or her career choice into question on occasion. Take care of your nurse the same way she or he takes care of others by reminding the medical professional you appreciate and admire the work they do.
