There is nothing worse than dating a man with baggage (i.e. an ex that won't go away). You're really into this guy but you feel like you're never going to get rid of her. If your boyfriend has an ex that just won't take a hint, take a look at these tips for assistance.
Figure Out Why
Before you take any action you should probably figure out why it is that she won't leave him alone. In other words, make sure that he isn't giving her reasons to continue pursuing him. Sometimes women want to believe that the ex is just a crazy woman but in actuality the boyfriend is still contacting her too. Make sure that he has completely cut ties from her before you start to put all of the blame on her. If she won't go away because he is still making her think that he wants to talk to her, you need to deal with him and not her. You definitely don't want to be the other woman, so if there is something between them then you want to get out.
Make Sure She Knows He Isn't Interested
Assuming that she is contacting your boyfriend without warrant, you and he must make sure that she knows he isn't interested. Let her know that regardless of whether or not you are in the picture, he still wouldn't want her. She is not going to believe you so he needs to tell her; he must tell her that he is happy with you, has no interest in her, and to stop contacting him. She has to rid of any hope that the two of them will be together again. Allow her to see the two of you together and make sure she sees how happy you are. If she knows that she has no chance with him then she might back off.
Ignore Her
Once she is told straight out that your boyfriend has no interest in talking to her, try to ignore her before you take any other action. Make sure that neither you nor your boyfriend have any contact with her whatsoever. Both of you must ignore any messages or calls from her because any attention to her is good attention – even if it's actually bad attention. Even if you guys tell her how much you hate her and want her to fall of the earth, that is acknowledging that she exists. If you guys take the time to tell her to go away then you're giving her the time of day and that's what she wants.
Make Her Feel Desperate
If ignoring her does not give her the hint then you need to put her in her place. Explain to her that chasing after a man that doesn't want her makes her look like she is desperate. Let her know that she is only going to make herself look crazy. Nobody wants to be an outcast and if she knows that she is making herself look like a stalker then she might question her actions and change (unless she has real mental problems). If you know people that are friendly with her then tell them to try to hint to her that she is acting crazy – if other people tell her then she might finally look in the mirror.
Scare Her
Don't threaten to hurt her but tell her that you're going to go to the police if she doesn't leave you two alone. Even though you probably wouldn't go to the police with this issue, just make her think you're going to get her arrested for stalking. She might get scared enough to just back off because nobody wants legal trouble. If the situation really does get out of hand then you can really go to the police and have them warn her to back off, but just threatening to do so will probably scare her off.
