How to Have Sex When You Have a Yeast Infection

Article

Having a yeast infection sucks, and for many women it’s a quick way to lose out on some fun sex. There is a great debate out there as to whether or not you can have sex while having a yeast infection, but for the most part it’s assumed to be a matter of personal choice. There are some risks involved which are covered below, but overall, you can in fact have intercourse with a yeast infection. Here is how to do it:
Understand the risks involved
The main thing you have to think about here is the fact that the yeast infection is contagious, so you can easily give it to your partner. Yeast can grow in any wet part of the body, so you could give your partner an infection in the mouth after oral or somewhere along the genitalia. There may also be pain involved as there are dry skin issues that may not feel too pleasant during sex. Just be aware of the fact that it may not be as fun as you want it to be.
See if your partner is okay with the yeast infection
If your partner is okay with the risks above, then you’ll be fine, but you need to make sure that a discussion occurs prior to intercourse. The last thing you want to do is get all amped up for sex and then get rejected because of a yeast infection you “forgot to mention.” You need to have enough respect for your partner to let him know what is going on and how he might be affected by your issues. If he doesn’t want to have sex, you may just have to give him a blow job and then work on yourself in private.
Trying to cure the yeast infection
Some people say that the best idea is to wait until your infection is all cleared up. The yeast can remain on the body for three days after it has cleared up, so be sure to allot that much time if you do plan to wait. There are creams out there that you can use to help heal your infection, but you can also apply yogurt directly to the surface. Do not use soaps, douches, or chemicals on your vagina. It will clean itself on the inside. Let the area stay open to air on a regular basis because infections feed off the moisture. For a quick fix, they do have one day treatments that you might want to look into.
The actual sex
When you have sex, chances are you’re going to have to overcome the dryness. This can be done by investing in some good lubricant. Don’t use lotion as that will only add to your problems. The man should probably use a condom as this will lessen the risk of contracting the infection. This may also make things feel a bit better for him without the rough areas. The rest of the sex is up to your skills and needs…
