How To Know If He/She's Just Not Into You

Sex Tip

If you’ve seen the movie He’s Just Not That Into You (2009) by Ken Kwapis, you’ll definitely have an idea of the many signs and gestures that would show or prove if a guy or girl isn’t interested or into you.  When you look at the big picture behind this movie, you’ll realize that this is a problem or issue with the dating world that many men and women tend to misinterpret or misunderstand.  Each gender has their own signs that explains if they are interested or not in a potential partner, and by identifying these signs will you be able to determine if you should keep putting effort on the possibility or leave and move on to the next person in line. Of course, not every couple can be categorized under these subtle signs of disinterest since there could be other underlying factors that would explain their behavior and actions, but if you’ve just started dating a person and are constantly wondering if he or she is interested in you, here are some signs that could answer the never ending line of questions in your head:
Phone calls
Just like the hopeful Gigi Phillips (Ginnifer Goodwin) in the movie, a woman would usually wonder if a guy is interested in her through phone calls and promises that he would “call” after the first date.  If he does call and directly or indirectly invites her for another date, then 99% to a complete 100% he is interested in getting to know more about her.  If there have been no calls and the guy seems to want to distance himself from you, then it’s a definite no.  This is the same with guys who are interested in women; Conor Barry (Kevin Conolly) is constantly putting effort (and has even gone as far as proposing a long-term relationship with a new house) into showing how much he wants to be with Anna Marks (Scarlett Johansson), but because she really isn’t interested in the idea of being with him, she leaves him confused, frustrated, and constantly wondering why her affections and attention each time she visits him say otherwise.
Signs during the conversation
Less eye contact and half of the attention present during the conversation are two very distinct signs that the guy or girl is really not interested.  Though this may differ for other people, these signs are basically simple and discreet shout-outs that the guy or girl isn’t really interested to know what goes on with your life, who you are, or what you are interested in.
Noticing that you aren’t moving further with him
If you two have been going out together for quite some time and the guy has not made any effort into knowing you more or moving on to the next level in the relationship, he or she may not be interested in a possible long-term relationship with you.  You’ll be able to feel this awkward reality if you’ve tried to bring up the possibility of a long-term relationship and he or she withdraws, stutters, or shows utter hesitance at the idea of being in a relationship with you.
Getting over the fact that he/she’s just not into you
Accept within yourself that this guy or girl isn’t interested in you or in the idea of being with you at all. Open your mind and heart to other possibilities.  Being open to the idea of seeing other people will lessen the pain of being rejected by your previous prospect.  You’ll also be able to learn from the experience and become more confident and sure of what you want and who you want to be with, in a relationship. Don’t just depend on the signs and discreet actions.  If you want to know if a guy or girl is interested in you, you can ask him directly or in a straight yet calm manner so as not to scare them away.  You’ll be able to save yourself a lot of time from playing mind games and actually resolve those inner conflicts in order to move on. And lastly, keep yourself composed when faced with rejection. Don’t break down in tears in front of the person as it will not only embarrass you but will ruin your chances of ever finding the right person for you.
