Everyone always talks about these invisible “bases” in dating that represent how far you are in a relationship. Even though most people understand what a home run is, the actual definition of each base is usually unknown. Most people throw the terms around as if they know what they mean, but what are the real meanings of each base? Believe it or not, there are actual steps for each base, and we’re here to let you know what they are.
First Base
There is the first base which refers to “the kiss.” This can extend all the way to French kissing as well, not just normal kissing. In the past, first base meant a kiss, usually a good night kiss. Nowadays, people have progressed to more advanced stages, almost like they’re trying to steal second. Before you go to first base, be sure to brush your teeth, take a good bath, and ensure that you are nicely groomed. Both you and your partner should be clean and fresh before going on a date. You don’t want your partner kissing a dumpster do ya?
Second base
The second base on the other hand is the touching of private extremities and/or appendages of the partners' body. This is commonly known as the “boob touch”. This one usually runs right into third base, and some people don’t even see it as a base. This base may include dry humping as well, or pretty much any sexual act that involves clothing.
Third Base
The third base is oral sex. For men it’s a blow job and for women it‘s just seen as “eating out”. If you want a successful third base experience, spend time teasing your partner’s whole body before you head south. You have to remember that it’s not all about clitoris and penises when having oral sex with your partner. It is best to make use of your tongue and hands alternately. Rhythm is the key to the perfect oral sex. Just keep it steady and you will have the crowd roaring.
The home run!
A home run is obviously full on sex--nothing held back. I’d tell you to wait until you’re ready…blah, blah, blah, but the truth is that home runs happen all the time. Just be safe about it. Don’t hit the ball without your gloves on, if you know what I mean.
Thinking about the bases
Whereas, not every dating situation that engages in sex leads to marriage or even a serious relationship, partners do owe it to them to discuss about where they see their relationship going and how sex may change the relationship. It is possible that women can have assumptions made and that is by having sex would mean they are already committed to their partner, which may have a different meaning to men.
