The dating world can be a tough one. With all the judgments about what is beautiful and the pressure to stay thin, could be enough to make you want to get married. (Only kidding) However, if you do have a date coming up and you feel like you need to lose a few extra pounds, here a few tips that may help.
Drink lots of water
First, drink plenty of water. Not only is water good for you, but it is good for weight loss also. Water gives your stomach the sensation that is it full, so you will naturally want to eat less and therefore lose weight. So, by drinking eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day and eliminating some of those calorie filled cokes, you may just be able to take off a pound or two.
Start eating less
Second, if the water gets the ball rolling for you, keep it going by eating less. Now, an easy was to trick your eyes and stomach is to use smaller plates, and thus smaller portions. Also, there is nothing wrong with leaving the extra on your plate. You don’t have to get the “Clean Plate” award every time. Only eat until you are full, then stop. Also, try snacking between meals. I am not suggesting a bag of potato chips to curb your appetite, but healthy snacking. Keep fresh and pre-cut fruits and vegetables around for when a craving strikes you. This should also help to keep you from overeating at mealtime.
Start some cardio workouts
Next, sweat it out. If you already have a gym membership, then you are on the right path, but to lose a quick couple of pounds, try out the sauna. This is beneficial not only in getting rid of the toxins in your body, but also in helping you lose that pesky water weight. However, if you don’t have access to a sauna, you might try sleeping in your favorite comfy sweats. You may have to change your sheets in the morning, but you will have sweat off some of your extra water. Also, a little exercise never actually killed anyone I don’t think. So, try out the latest elliptical or start walking. Whatever it is start slow, Rome wasn’t built overnight and your muscles won’t be either.
Don’t have your expectations too high
Last, don’t expect too much. These are just a few way to drop a couple of pounds; probably not more than five. You shouldn’t expect to take off twenty pounds overnight. This would not be healthy for your body or organs. Keep in mind that your date asked you out at the weight you are. This means that they are interested anyway. Now, that said, you will also be more confident if you think you look your best making you all the more attractive to your date. Remember, a good date isn’t about how much you weight, but your chemistry with the other person. So, don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Finally, the only sure fire way to get the weight off and keep it off is through a healthy diet and regular exercise.
