How To Seek Fertility Treatments To Conceive A Child

Sex Tip

If you and your partner are considering fertility treatments in order to have a child, there are a few things you need to be aware of. You need to consider how far you are willing to go to have a child. Treatments are highly expensive, and they are rarely covered by health insurance. If you are a woman who is over the age of thirty five, you have a much higher chance of having a miscarriage or having a baby who has Down’s syndrome. If you decide to proceed with the treatments, these are the most common ones you will see:

Clomiphene

This method of fertility treatment comes in the form of a pill. The pill is designed to encourage ovulation in women. It stimulates your ovaries to release additional eggs during ovulation.  Clomiphene is usually taken in combination with other drugs. Unfortunately, this drug does not always have a high success rate. The next step would be to move onto hormone shots.

In Vitro Fertilization

In vitro fertilization is one of the most commonly known forms of fertility treatments. With this treatment, a man’s sperm is mixed with a woman’s eggs in a lab. Either donor sperm or donor eggs can be substituted as need be. After the egg and sperm has connected, this is known as fertilization. Generally, with this treatment, more than one fertilized egg is put into a woman’s embryo to increase the chances that one will develop into a baby.

Male Infertility

When a couple experiences problems having a baby, the trouble does not always lie with the woman. With the male, a sperm count and semen analysis will be performed to make certain that his semen is healthy. Artificial insemination may be the first step recommended in conceiving a baby. In this form of treatment, sperm is removed from the testicles. It is then united with an egg in a lab and implanted into a woman. Sometimes it is simply a matter of the male’s plumbing experiencing some sort of blockage.

The Rest of It

There can be a variety of reasons as to why a couple is unable to have a baby without assistance. If the aforementioned options for treatment do not work, you have a plethora of other available to you. When you are looking at clinics for possible treatments, be sure to check into their success rates.
