i love my girlfriend but she was my first i want to 'dip my toe in more ponds'

Question

i Lost my virginity to my girlfriend about 2 months ago now, we have been doing still to this day. the thing is i really regret not sleeping around with other women and seeing what they have to show and what i have to give, one thing that always crosses my mind is that she has had sex with 3 or 4 people before me. i dont know what to do. if a 4 month brake up was an option i would take it but i dont think it works like that.

You need to decide where your heart lies right now - with her or with experimenting. Neither is wrong. It's all up to you. Having one partner does have its perks. No one ever has to live up to your expectations, and you know exactly what to do with that person. Sure, you don't have experiences with others, but if the two of you are open enough sexually, you don't *need* anyone else.

However, I'm all for playing the field too. If that's what you want to do, call it a "break" and see how your girl reacts. If she's not happy about it, a full break up may be best. That, or you'll need to realize how much you want to be with just her. She may also be cool with it, in which case, go explore. If you don't like anything, come back and see if this girl is still available. Just don't screw up a good thing because your body is doing all the thinking for you. Use logic and passion to drive your decision.

No, it doesn't usually work like that. Don't cheat on your girlfriend. If you don't think you have a future together, break it off. If you do have a future together, cheating is a bad way to start it. If this really is a problem for you, talk it out with her. Maybe she feels the same? I'd bet not. Bringing it up can cause problems too. Either way things like this can eat away at a relationship. Maybe you get lucky, hey, someone's gotta win the lottery.

And as a follow-up. When I say win the lottery, don't get excited. An average teen has a 1 in 5,000 chance of dying in a particular year, most likely in a motor vehicle accident. That's a .0002% chance. But you don't stop driving do you? Because those odds are pretty small, right? But winning the lottery jackpot you have a 1 in 14,500,000 chance. The odds are it ain't gonna happen. The stories you hear are made to keep you thinking you have a chance when you don't. Cheating on your wife or girlfriend, and having them be OK with it? Pretty slim odds. There is a better chance of her going all "Lorena Bobbitt" on your ass.
Sorry, I gotta go and buy a lottery ticket and a 7/11 hot dog.
(Ya, go look her up)
