Ladies First Date Attire

Article

1. Dress appropriately. This is your second chance to make him see why he asked you out in the first place. This is not your chance to show off your cleavage or ass in a low cut shirt or mini skirt unless he's taking you to a strip club. Save the naughty wear for the bedroom once you've sealed the deal or for a crazy night out in the future, not the first date! You want him to undress you with his eyes, don't show off what's underneath right away.

2. Dress accordingly. Chances are he gave you some hint as to what you will be doing on the date. Do not show up in a dress if you're going hiking and do not wear a ball gown to a bar. Dinner and drinks are usually the norm for a first date, wear jeans and a cute top or a cute dress. While there are endless possibilities to wear to dinner, do some research on the restaurant or pick an outfit that can go either way. You don't want your attire to stand out, you want your good looks and amazing personality to keep his attention tonight.

3. One word: underwear. If your top is see-though, low cut, thin...wear a bra. You don't need to show you're "excitement" during dinner. This applies to your undies too, wear a thong if you don't want underwear lines or no panties if the dress is too tight. You don't need your thong to hang out of your pants either, keep it classy, leave your underwear color to his imagination...

4. Shoes. I personally love heels at night but if you're just going to the movies or lunch, stick to flats. If it is a night date, heels are appropriate however do not wear uncomfortable one. The last thing he wants to hear is you whining about your feet. Practice walking in your heels beforehand, purchase comfortable ones, or prevent the pain with band-aids prior to putting them on. If all else fails, suck it up! Do NOT take off your shoes!

5. Don't go crazy on the makeup. Accentuate your features but do not overload on the blush or lipstick. Save the fake lashes and glitter for Halloween. Remember you're promoting yourself on this first date as a woman, not a clown. By all mean dress it up at night with mascara and eyeshadow but keep it simple. You will look far worse the morning after (that is is you even get invited to stay over...) with runny makeup than if you kept it light.

6. Accessories should be kept to a minimum; no need for over sized earrings, fake hair pieces, or a purse that looks like a furry critter. While it's fun to be trendy, I don't think he wants to take out a woman who looks like one those teens in the magazines. Stick to classic pieces depending on where you're going and you won't look like a fool.
