People shove much more harmful things up their asses than marshmallows. I think it's just fine. I haven't looked at the link and I don't plan on it, but based on your description, there shouldn't be a risk with it.

Keep in mind the tissue in the rectum/colon crypt are a permeable membranes and whatever you put in can get absorbed into your bloodstream if not cleared properly.
