As far as I know, you should actually have sex then because that is when you are likely not ovulating. I've heard that rumor before though, so I'm not entirely sure what it spawns from (anxious to see answers). As for sex on your period, it won't hurt anything....it'll just be messy. In slang terms, that's called "ketchup pussy", just so you know :)
