I’m getting a sex change within the next year. I’ve never felt comfortable as a man, and I want to finally become the woman that I know I have the ability to be. I’m really confused about how to classify my orientation. Right now, I assume that I am gay because I want to be with men, but once I get the change, will that still be the case? Will I be a straight woman? For that matter, is sex going to change after the operation? My doc won’t explain things very well.

You can be considered whatever you want to be when it comes to sexuality. If you really see yourself as a woman, then you are straight. Simple as that. As for the sex, well, you will have new parts. You'll feel the pleasure that those new parts provide.
